Local Retreat: Palos Verdes
Study and experience 12 kinds of prānāyāma grounded in classical Yogic and Indian texts such as Patanjali's Yoga Sūtra, Hatha Yoga Prādīpika and the Upanišads. Prānāyāma has been developed over millennia - passed down from teacher to student. Our training welcomes you into this stream of knowledge sharing about these powerful tools.

Jorge also in depth traditional workshops that are yoga focused. Each workshop is unique and is created to deepen knowledge to dedicated students and teachers.
The Art of Purification
Jorge Luna stands for cleansing your body, mind, and spirit of everything that does not support your sustainable joy. The first part of this workshop focused on the larger corporal and physical issues of Toxicity: food, environment, product consumption and ecological circumstances.
This detoxification workshop will focus on the nuances of purifying the mind and spirit. The class will begin with a 45 minute lecture regarding how we move into the truth of self responsibility, goal and intention setting and how to become introspective without judgment. A 90 minute flow will follow: also focusing on emotional and spiritual themes. We will close with a 30 minute lecture on how to detoxify sustainably and create a daily plan for success. The last few minutes will be question and answer.
If you are looking to create sustainable joy and love in your life in real, specific and concrete terms, then this workshop is for you. One year of yoga practice is recommended.
Guiding Alignment
Understand your individual postures and how to work with you own body type in reference to classical yoga. Deepen your understanding of long holds, working with injuries, avoid repetitive damaging movement and facilitate your complex transitions. Areas to be covered are feet, knees, hips, shoulders, and head.
Purposeful Ayurveda & Personal Practice
Learn about the three constiuttions: their gifts and liabilities. Be able to recognize when you are coming out of balance and then make informed wise choicesabout how to use your yoga practice and lifestyle to feel more balanced and effective in the world. This workshop will have a physical yoga practice and workshop education component. One year of practice recommended.
Turning Down the Heat!
Utilizing your yoga practice to cleanse, detoxify and cool the body from seasonal/hormonal heat:
Learn about the concepts of Lanhana and Bramhana: the balance of these two energies brings the body into balance. This workshop will focus on Langhana techniques for eliminating heaviness and producing lightness in the body. The physical practice will have a strong component of elimination, abdominal strengthening, forward folds, and twisting. The workshop will also feature pranayama techniques useful for heat management and in keeping with exhalation based practices. This workshop is ideal for those wishing to keep their body strong and balanced during times of seasonal heat or entering menopause. One year of practice recommended.
Yoga for Weight Loss and Obesity:
8 Part Series workshop
Drawing from the lineage of Krishnamacharya, this workshop develops over time to help practitioners lose weight. The actual practice involves developing practice with breathing techniques and patterns that help stimulate metabolism and shed weight. The practice will become increasingly more challenging over time creating the most dramatic results after a few months.
Additionally, the course will focus on food selection and control. Although we will discuss emotional issues related to weight management, the focus of this workshop is primarily physical.
This is a 10-part workshop taught over 5 months.
This workshop can be taught to small groups not exceeding 10 people.
Intros
Intro classes are 60 minute mini-workshops designed to familiarize new students with a specific discipline. These classes are not a full class but an orientation into equipment, language/terminology, sequencing, and expectations. You can see intro classes in the following areas.
